Zayed National Museum

Named for the UAE's founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Zayed National Museum tells the story of the emirate's history and heritage through galleries housed in a building whose soaring forms are designed to evoke a falcon's wings — a deliberate nod to falconry's place in Emirati culture.

Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi

The Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi covers natural history at a global scale, and its best-known drawcard is a genuine 67-million-year-old Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton, alongside a 25-metre blue whale display suspended in one of the main halls — a rare chance to see specimens of that scale outside a handful of major natural history museums worldwide.

Completing the picture

With these two openings alongside teamLab Phenomena and the existing Louvre Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat's Cultural District now holds four major museums, with the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi still to come — positioning the island as one of the most concentrated museum districts anywhere in the world once complete.
