Built on a genuinely palatial scale — domes, marble corridors, extensive gardens and its own stretch of private beach — Emirates Palace was designed as much as a national statement as a hotel. It remains a sightseeing destination in its own right, with many visitors touring the public areas even without staying overnight.
Since transitioning to Mandarin Oriental management, the property has kept its architectural identity while updating its dining and service standards to the brand's international benchmark.
Rooms and suites are set within the palace's vast footprint, with many looking out over the gardens, the private beach or the Gulf itself; higher categories add butler service and access to a private lounge. The dining lineup spans everything from a formal afternoon tea in the lobby's central rotunda to multiple standalone restaurants covering Indian, Italian and international menus.
The hotel sits at the western end of the Corniche, an easy walk from the promenade and a short drive from downtown, Etihad Towers and Qasr Al Watan — making it a workable base for sightseeing despite its resort scale.
