The Walt Disney Company and Abu Dhabi developer Miral have confirmed the coastal site on Yas Island for the region's first Disney theme park resort.
In January 2026, Disney chief executive Bob Iger visited the coastal site on Yas Island earmarked for Disneyland Abu Dhabi, sharing images from the location and describing the project as still early-stage but underway. The resort will be developed with Miral, the Abu Dhabi company already behind Yas Island's Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, Yas Waterworld and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi.
It will be the seventh Disney park globally and the first anywhere in the Middle East, joining Disney's existing resorts in the US, France, Japan, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Disney has described plans for a signature castle centrepiece, a mix of indoor and outdoor attractions designed around the UAE's climate, and themed hotels, dining and retail. Executives have said the park will blend classic Disney storytelling with Emirati architectural and cultural identity rather than simply replicating an existing park.
No official opening date has been set. Based on typical Disney park development timelines — roughly a year or two of design followed by four to six years of construction — industry reporting has pointed to a realistic opening window sometime between 2030 and 2033.
